Gatekeepers Project Day 4

Today, we put the finishing touches on our project. This included adding lead-ins to our interview questions and assigning homework to each group member. We timed our presentation to ensure that it reached the minimum time requirement and passed. Also, Spencer and Chris wrote their opening and closing remarks. All in all, we thoroughly readied ourselves for the presentation tomorrow. The only tasks we had left to complete tonight were to retype the interview questions, the thesis, and tidy up the opening and closing remarks. Tomorrow is the big day. Wish us luck!

Gatekeepers Project Day 3

I wasn't surprised we had a tough time getting things done today. With the band playing through the halls for homecoming, it was tough not to be distracted. However, we did make progress. Collectively, we finished answers to the interview questions so that Kevin could type them up this weekend. Also, we wrote up a working thesis which might be revised once again before Tuesday, but who knows. Over the weekend, we are finishing our six say/mean/matters and doing individual parts of the project. Kevin is typing up the answers to the questions. Chris is typing our group thesis on Julianna being accepted into Knox, and I am doing the blog and revising the rubric. Spencer, can you please bring a wig on Tuesday? My mom threw out the one we had. Good work today everyone!

Gatekeepers Project Day 2

Today was a fairly productive day. Our group accomplished a good amount of planning and started on what we needed to get done. With ease, we chose questions for our interviewee to be asked during the presentation. Also, we established a schedule for the remaining time we have to work on our project. Tonight, each member is completing three say/mean/matters, but having all six quotes ready for tomorrow to ensure that everyone has enough and none are overlapping. Spencer is hard at work typing up the questions for the interview. Tomorrow, we will be collectively deciding how Julianna should answer the questions. Good job today everyone. We're making real progress!

Day 1 of The Gatekeepers Project

Today, we accomplished a fair amount of work necessary for our Gatekeepers' Project. This included creating a rubric that would sample a Knox College admission's officer's. It consists of a 4 to 1 grading scale (4 being the best) with categories such as transcript, extra curricular activities, ethnicity, sports, personality, and other strong requirements the college emphasizes on. In addition, we began to create interview questions that members of our group will ask one other lucky member as if he were Julianna Bentes from the novel. Our group is continuing its efforts outside of class tonight, gathering info about Knox, typing up the rubric, and writing five additional interview questions each. It was a busy day in class, but we are moving along quite nicely.
